Mysuru: The BJP’s sitting Member of Parliament, Pratap Simha and senior politician P Srinivas Prasad, who will be contesting from the Mysuru and Chamarajanagar constituency respectively in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, will be filing their nomination papers on Monday and Tuesday respectively.
A few days ago, former Union minister Srinivas Prasad had declared that he will not contest in the Lok Sabha election. However, he has decided to contest from the Chamarajanagar constituency, due to pressure from the party. He will be taking on Congress candidate and sitting MP Dhruvanarayan.
Pratap Simha will be offering a pooja at the Kote Anjaneya Swamy temple at 9 AM on Monday, before filing his nomination.
Congress leader Vijayashankar will also file his nomination on Monday. Vijayashankar, who is a close associate of former chief minister Siddaramaiah, reportedly managed to get a ticket to contest from the Mysuru Lok Sabha constituency after a lot of struggle.
