Mysuru: The Congress Government led by the then Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and I were responsible for the Expressway Project. It was a true dream and we were the ones who planned it. However, Former Minister Dr. H. C. Mahadevappa said that he condemns the spread of misinformation.

Speaking at a press conference after inspecting the Mysuru – Bengaluru Expressway near Siddalingapura on the outskirts of the City, he said that it was a State Highway till 2013. It was converted into a National Highway keeping in mind the increasing number of passengers as the norm, he asserted.

Though it was made four lanes through KRDCL, as the pressure mounted, it was decided to prepare the DPR in consultation with the Chief Minister. A proposal was made to make the 1,882-km-long State Highway a National Highway. The notification was issued on March 4, 2014. Those who are barking now were not MPs at the time. Oscar Fernandes was a Minister at the Centre. Development work is not the BJP’s alms, he said.

We opened an office in Ramanagara and acquired 2,000 acres of land. We did a survey. We also submitted a Technical Report. Our Government is responsible for implementing the scheme. Now the BJP is taking the credit for it” he said.
