Mysuru: A gala birthday celebration took a cruel turn, when a birthday girl suffered severe burns after helium balloons burst while lighting a birthday candle.
The unfortunate incident occured when Sanjana, a resident of Mohalla and student of a private college, as part of her birthday celebrations, was lighting a sparkling birthday candle when the sparks of the candle burst one of the balloons. A fire then engulfed the girl, leaving her injured.
In the video that went viral on social media, the girl can be seen screaming and running away from the scene. She is said to have suffered injuries on her hands, legs and face.
