Mysuru lads take lead in U-9 Chess state championship

Mysuru: In the ongoing Karnataka State Under 9 chess championship organised by Mysuru Chess Centre, Mysuru lads took lead in both boys and girls category at the end of second day.

In the 6th round Arnav Muralidhar of Mysuru beat Arhan Chethan Anand of Bengaluru. With this win Arnav Abhyuday Santosh from Bengaluru tops the table with six points each followed by Ayush Yajaman and Jagrut Anand Devadiga both from Bengaluru with 5.5 points each while in girls section Anagha KGR of Mysuru beat top seed Shefali AN of Mandya(Mdy) to save top position. With this win Anagha tops the table with six points followed by Yashaswi S Kiran from Bengaluru with 5.5 points.

Playing in 2nd board, Abhyuday Santhosh won against Apoorv Kamble to share lead with Arnav. Arnav will face Abhyudhay in the seventh round. Remaining 3 rounds will decide the State Champions.

Results (6th round): Arnav Muralidhar (Mys, 6pts) bt Arhan Chetan Anand (Blr 5pts); Apoorv Kamble (Blr, 5pts) Lost to Abhyuday Santosh (Blr 6pts); Ayush J Yajaman (Blr 5.5pts) bt KH Mitul (Blr 4pts); Yash Abhijit Patil (blr 4pts) lost to Jagrut Anand Devadiga (Blr 5.5pts); Amogh Bisht (Blr 5pts) bt Aryan Goswami (Mys 4pts).

Girls: Shefali AN (Mdy 5pts ) lost to KGR Anagha (Mys 6pts); Yashaswi S Kiran (Mdy 5.5pts) bt Valety Swetha (Blr 4pts); Sharadhi Shastry (Mys 5pts) bt Aditii Suresh (4pts DK); J Ashwitha (Blr 5pts) bt G Spoorvika (Mdy 4pts); A Sri Harini (Blr 4pts) lost to Avantika Banujit (Blr 5pts).
