Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner Dr. K. V. Rajendra held a virtual meeting with the officials of other Districts attached to the border areas of Mysuru District and advised them to strictly implement the Model Code of Conduct during the upcoming Assembly elections.
Addressing a virtual meeting with District Officials at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in the City and officials of various departments of Wayanad District in inter-state Kerala, which falls under the border limits, Deputy Commissioner Dr. K. V. Rajendra instructed them to join hands to strictly implement the Model Code of Conduct to ensure fair, transparent and peaceful voting for the upcoming Assembly elections. “Mysuru District is bordered by the State of Kerala. Check-posts have been identified along the Border and Nodal Officers have been appointed for the same. Vehicles entering and leaving the State will have to be monitored at the border check posts, he said and for this, he suggested that Nodal Officers should also be appointed from the Border Districts of the bordering States.
“Checkposts will have to function 24×7. Officers from outside the Districts will have to carry out duties in coordination with the Nodal Officers deputed by the District. The District Administration should submit the details of the Officials from outside the Districts to be appointed to the offices of the Police and Excise Departments,” he said.
