Mysuru: In the wake of the Karnataka Assembly elections, many developments took place in the three dominant parties while distributing tickets. Mainly in the BJP camp, before the announcement of the ticket, V. Somanna was upset with Former chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa’s son Vijayendra. Somanna’s son Arun Somanna also openly expressed his anger against Vijayendra.
Yediyurappa has said that he would hold talks with V. Somanna after that. But the talks did not take place. Through this, the quarrel between the two led to a big political debate. Later, he met Union Minister Amit Shah. After meeting Amit Shah, Somanna was relieved and changed the tone of his speech. Later, the high command gave tickets to Somanna to contest in two constituencies.
Speaking at the media interaction programme organised on Sunday May 7, he said that that Opposition Leader Siddaramaiah will not become the Chief Minister again. The Congress Party will not make Siddaramaiah the Chief Minister. He revealed that Amit Shah has promised him a huge responsibility if he defeated Siddaramaiah and said he would not be sheep of sacrifice.
Talking about Siddaramaiah’s apology to Lingayats, he said that the damage is done. Currently, Siddaramaiah is aware of the election time. He has changed for the election. He said that Siddaramaiah will be the same again after the election. Talking about Siddaramaiah’s allegation that Somanna did not give houses to the poor in State he said he has records to show the development.
He spoke on the issue of corruption allegations. He said, I am ready to sit and discuss with Siddaramaiah. Varuna is overlooked by Siddaramaiah. Let Siddaramaiah go and see Govindaraja Nagar. Anyone can do politics. Voters want nothing but development. If you see the roads of Varuna, you will be shocked. Our leaders sent me to make Varuna to make itGovindarajanagara, he said.
He questioned Siddaramaiah that have you sat down and talked to people in the Constituency? But your supporters doing hooliganism in Varuna. Why do they talk about the removal of reservation? Can Lingayats and Vokkaligas be touched? Can we touch SC/ST community? I respect Shivrajkumar’s family. But why actors Duniya Viji, Loose Mada, Nd Ramya all came to Varuna for canvassing? Siddaramaiah, earlier said he will not campaign in Varuna. Now bringing all lead film actors fearing of defeat.bAllow me to avoid the scourge of intermediaries, he said.
He lashed out at Siddaramaiah alleging that only one community was benefited in Varuna.
How many people came with you from outside? I know who has come to distribute the money. You were running the constituency through your supporters, he said and added, “let us both stay away from constituency and people can decide the leader.”
