Mysuru district secured the 12th position in Karnataka with a 74.3% pass rate in the II PUC final results released on Tuesday. Although this marks a dip from last year’s 15th spot with an 83.1% pass rate, the district celebrated notable achievements by its students.

Three young women from Mysuru stood out at the state level. Tejaswini M A from Bharathamatha PU College, Koppa (Periyapatna taluk), claimed the second position in the commerce stream with an impressive 598 marks. Just two marks short in English, she said, “I had anticipated this rank.” Tejaswini, who earlier scored 605 out of 625 in SSLC, credited her success to disciplined studying—seven hours daily, primarily in the mornings. Her father, Ananda MA, is a forest officer in Kodagu. She aspires to become a Chartered Accountant.

Dhatri G from Sadvidya Semi-Residential PU College, Vijayanagar, secured the fourth rank with 596 marks. “The rank was unexpected,” she said. Her ambition is also to pursue CA. She is the daughter of KR Gururaja, a Doordarshan staffer, and homemaker DN Aparna.

Harshini K of Sri BGS Girls PU College secured sixth place, scoring 594 marks. Formerly a central syllabus student, she too dreams of a career in Chartered Accountancy. Her parents, DN Narayanaswamy and Shobha PN, are residents of Bogadi.

In the science stream, Anagha S Karnis from SVIC Jnanodaya PU College, Saraswathipuram, topped the district with 594 marks.

Out of 31,610 students, 23,485 passed in Mysuru. Science had an 81.9% success rate, commerce 75%, and arts 57.62%.
