Mysuru: Mysuru district has recorded a significant improvement in its SSLC examination results this year, achieving a pass percentage of 94.50 per cent, up by 13.12 percentage points from last year’s 80.89 per cent.

Despite the sharp rise in overall performance, the district has slipped in the state rankings, securing the 20th position this year compared to the 15th place it held in 2025.

Performance trends over the years

A look at recent years shows fluctuating performance in both pass percentage and ranking for Mysuru district. In 2024, the district had achieved a pass percentage of 87.19 per cent and secured the 7th rank in the state. In 2023, it stood at 19th place with 89.53 per cent, while in 2022, it recorded 91.37 per cent and ranked 11th.

The current year’s improvement in pass percentage indicates better academic outcomes, but the drop in ranking suggests that other districts may have performed even more strongly.

No cent percent scorers in region

Interestingly, no student from the Mysuru region secured a perfect score in the SSLC examinations this year. This includes districts such as Mysuru, Hassan, and Chamarajanagar.

Education officials noted that while the overall pass percentage is encouraging, the absence of top scorers highlights the need for further focus on academic excellence and high achievement.

Mixed outcome for district

The results present a mixed picture for Mysuru district. On one hand, the notable increase in pass percentage reflects improvements in teaching standards, student performance, and exam preparedness.

On the other hand, the drop in ranking underscores the competitive nature of SSLC results across Karnataka, where even strong performances may not guarantee higher positions.

Conclusion

While Mysuru district has made commendable progress in improving its SSLC pass percentage, the decline in ranking and absence of centum scorers indicate areas for further improvement. Education authorities may now focus on enhancing quality alongside consistency to ensure better standings in future state rankings.
