Mysuru: Tiger kills farmer, his cow in Nanjanagudu

Mysuru: A farmer and a cow were killed by a tiger at Hadanoor Odiyanapura Village of Nanjanagudu Taluk on Sunday July 31.

The deceased has been identified as Puttaswamy (46), a farmer of the village. The incident occurred when Puttaswamy was grazing his cattle in his farm on the foothills of Nanjadevara Hill in Bandipur National Park. A tiger from near by forest suddenly attacked and Puttaswamy died on the spot. Besides, one cattle was also killed by the tiger.

The villagers have complained against the Forest Department and also the staged protest against the attitude officers and staff of the Hediala Forest Department.

Villagers said despite complaints the Forest Department has not taken any steps to curb wild elephants and tiger menace.
