Mysuru: Wild elephants enter field near Saraguru

Mysuru: Five wild elephants, who had come from Mulluru Hill in search of food, entered the fields of farmers in Hosabirwala Village and destroyed sugarcane as well as other crops.

The wild elephants, who came from Mulluru Hill, entered the sugarcane field after drinking water at Hosabirwal in Nugu Wildlife Sanctuary under Mullur Gram Panchayat limits in Saraguru Taluk of the District. The public who saw the wild elephants informed the Forest Department Officials.

The Forest Department Officials and staff rushed to the spot and tried to chase away the wild elephants. They strayed into the farmers’ fields and destroyed sugarcane and other crops.

Despite several attempts by the Forest Officials to chase the wild elephants into the forest, people rushed to the spot in droves and created a ruckus
