Mysuru: The  Mysuru District Hotel Owners’ Association has questioned the administration over curbs imposed on hotels about celebration of Christmas, New Year celebrations, or any type of entertainment programmes and events.

As per the Government order all such events have been banned in the City due to the current pandemic situation and its new mutant variant Omicron.

In a statement, Association President C. Narayanagowda said, “We don’t understand the guidelines issued by the government to stop any programme or event to be held in hotels during festivities, but a flower show by the Mysore Palace Board and fireworks for the New Year celebrations are permitted which attract large crowds. It is an unreasonable decision by the District Administration.”

He also wondered whether there are separate guidelines for the District Administration or it is just confined to hotels. Narayanagowda urged the administration to withdraw the ban imposed on hotels and allow them to work during festivals.
