Mysuru: The State Government is completely drowned in debts, said Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Friday February 11 he said that he has no hope about forthcoming state budget. He said during his tenure the Government owed Rs 2.15 lakh Crore. Now the debt has gone upto Rs 4.57 Lakh Crore. He added that the State Government doubled liabilities and poor can’t expect anything good from budget.

Stating that the grants from Union Government to State Government has come down, he said that despite the development, the State Government which has 25 BJP MPs has no guts to ask for more grants. He said earlier Union Government was allocating 70:30 ratio of grants in Union Government developmental works, which has now been reduced to 50:50. He said Union Government owes Rs. 20000 Crore GST balance to State. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is making country insolvent. While Union Government already has a debt of Rs. 135.87 Lakh Crore. Again they are advising to avail 11.59 Lakh Crore loans. The Government has been paying Rs. 80 Lakh Crore interest on debts, he said and ridiculed that is this Sab ka Saath, Sab ka Vikas model. He further criticised State Government for its advertisement in media that promises footprint of future  and alleged that the government did not construct a single house.
