Mysuru: A male bison was shot dead along the Mysuru – Gonikoppa Highway in Nagarahole Tiger Reserve.
The carcass of an eight-year-old bison was found on the morning of Tuesday December 27 at Singanur Patrol of Devamachi Branch under Nagarahole Anechowkur Wildlife Range.
Hunsuru Sub-Division ACF Dayanand, Range Forest Officer Dileep, DRFO Santhosh and others visited the spot. Vinod Kumar and STPF personnel too were present at the spot.
The postmortem was conducted by Dr. Ramesh, a Veterinarian from Nagarahole Park. ACF Dayanand said an investigation has been launched to trace the accused.
