Mysuru: Under pressure from various quarters to resign from the Cabinet, over the alleged suicide of civil contractor Santosh K. Patil from Belagavi, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR) Minister K. S. Eshwarappa was hooked to his cellphone for about 15 minutes at Hotel Lalit Mahal Palace in the City on Wednesday April 13.

Eshwarappa, who boarded his vehicle in a hurry while on the phone, was alone on the hotel premises when he started his phone conversation.

While it is rumoured that Eshwarappa drove towards Bengaluru to meet Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Eshwarappa skipped the second day of BJP Mysuru division meeting at Hotel Lalitmahal Palace.

Before leaving for Bengaluru, Eshwarappa also made a vain bid to meet BJP State Unit President Nalin Kumar Kateel at the hotel. However, as the people had gathered in large numbers, he returned without meeting Kateel.

Later, he went for breakfast and was found busy over the phone.
