Mysuru: Mysuru – Kodagu Member of Parliament Prathap Simha has said that a National and State Disaster Management Centre will be set up near Mandakalli Airport in the City.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Friday July 8 Simha said a helipad will be constructed on a 75-acre area near the Mandakalli Airport to establish a disaster management centre in Mysuru. They will operate and maintain the operations with Mysuru as their primary location. This will facilitate convenient deployment of the teams from Mysuru to other districts in case of emergency, he noted.

He said that immediate steps will be taken to implement the plan in a few months.
