Mysuru: There have been widespread complaints about Government doctors practicing privately. Action will be taken to reduce this, said Health Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Friday October 28, he said that there are 6 medical colleges in Mysuru Division. Doctors are not coming to work on time. There are complaints that they are serving elsewhere at the same time. Mainly, there have been complaints about Government doctors practicing medicine elsewhere in clinics. So Biometric attendance is being made mandatory, he noted.
He said that the adoption of GPS technology was discussed and a complete ban on private practice will be implemented on Government doctors. Doctors in government hospitals should serve poor patients. He said that there is a consideration to allow Government doctor’s private practice to be allowed after the completion of their working hours.
He said Central Government is committed to making tuberculosis disease free by 2030. Several m programmes have been launched to make our Karnataka TB-free by 2025. On behalf of the State Government, 438 clinics have been set up across the State and said that Namma clinics will be started by November 8 in the areas where the poor and middle-class people live.
He said 128 women’s health centres will be established in different parts of the State. There is a shortage of specialist doctors in the State, he noted.
