Mysuru: Two persons died on the spot after a tractor overturned in Jabagere Village of Gavagere Hobali in Hunsur Taluk on the evening of Saturday August 27. The deceased has been identified as Jalendra (40) and his uncle’s son Chetan (22 ) of the same village.
Jalendra and Chetan were going with the driver on their tractor to plough the land on the rise of Harangi Canal and the road became muddy due to the heavy rains on the night of Friday August 26. The driver lost control and accidentally the tractor fell into the canal and overturned. In the incident, the driver Girish jumped out of the tractor and escaped unhurt, while Jalendra and Chetan died on the spot as the engine and steering wheel of the tractor fell on their chests.
When the villagers tried to lift the tractor, the diesel spilled out and caught fire and the tractor was almost burnt. Deceased Jalendra is married and is survived by wife and two children. A case has been registered in Hunsur Rural Police Station regarding the accident.
MLA H. P. Manjunath reached the spot and consoled the family of the deceased. Also, he promised to provide compensation from the Government.
