Mysuru: “There is no need to bother to trace the stolen mobile phone anymore. That’s why the website has come up. Mobile phones that have been lost in recent times are sometimes likely to be misused in criminal acts. Thus, the public can use www.ceir.gov.in website to trace the lost mobile.”
Mysuru City Police Commissioner Ramesh Banoth said that the www.ceir.gov.in website will not only prevent the misuse of lost mobile phones but will also be able to trace the lost mobile phones. The public should follow certain procedures in this regard. In case the mobile phone is lost, you should immediately file an e-lost complaint with the KSP application and get a digital e-compliance. The lost SIM card has to be retrieved from the service provider concerned and the said SIM card should be kept running to get the OTP. This will facilitate getting an OTP on the CEIR portal,” he said.
“One has get into the website, www.ceir.gov.in and enter the details of their lost mobile phones. The lost mobile phone will be blocked within 24 hours of entering the said information. Then no one can misuse that mobile. Further, action will be taken to trace the said mobile phones from Sen police station as the above information is mentioned in the www.ceir.gov.in. If the lost mobile phone is found, you can log in and unblock it in the already mentioned CEIR portal and use the said mobile phone,” he said.
Therefore, the public should take advantage of the website to prevent the misuse of the criminal activities of the lost mobile phones and to trace the said phones, he added.
