The entry ticket fee has touched Rs. 100 for adults irrespective of Indian and foreign nationals, Rs. 50 for kids in the age group of 10 to 18 years and Rs. 30 for students on academic tour.

Mysuru Palace board has installed the new ticket fare chart at Varaha gate, the main entrance of the palace. Similarly, the entry fee for Sound and Light show has also been hiked. For the show in Kannada on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, adults will be charged Rs. 90 and kids Rs. 40. For English version on Thursday and Saturday, tickets are priced at Rs. 120 and Rs. 50 respectively. The Palace entry timings is from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm and for Sound and Light show, timing starts from 6.30 pm.

Mysuru Palace is one of the top tourist destinations in India. After Taj Mahal, Mysuru Palace witnesses highest tourist footfall with approximate 3.5 million and above annually. It has to be seen how the hike in entry fee will be received by the tourists and visitors, especially during this pandemic time. Palace Management Committee Deputy Director T. S. Subramanya said the palace authorities are paying more than 10 lakh power bill per month. Rs. 30 lakh is spent as maintenance cost per month. The palace gets Rs. 17 crore income through entry fee, but for two years income has reduced owing to pandemic.
