Mysuru: Rude Facebook messages on a Gram Panchayat President has created a rift, which has now landed before the police.
Srirampura Gram Panchayat has to its credit the fame of being the richest Gram Panchayat in Mysuru district. However, GP President Chudamani and Vice-President Usha, the two important persons of the GP are said to be not in good terms with each other. Accordingly, the entire GP stands divided into two factions.
But, what sparked a crisis was the action of a GP member named Mahadeva Naika, who allegedly stole Usha’s mobile, accessed her Facebook profile and posted rude comments against the President and her style of work. The FB post has a picture of Chudamani and the caption reads that Chudamani is hungry for money and hence development of the GP is not her concern.
Raged by this, Chudamani took up the issue with South police and lodged a complaint on Saturday. The police had called both the parties and initiated a negotiation, following which both Chudamani and Usha had left the place.
On Wednesday, the case took a new turn with Mahadeva Naik lodging a complaint against Chudamani alleging that she and her aide Taluk Panchayat Member Hanumanth have been plotting to kill him.
One may have to wait and watch if the case would be settled or it will have new episodes unfurling.
