The Karnataka government has launched the ambitious ‘Nava Mysuru Nirmana’ project to support Mysuru’s rapid growth. Key proposals include setting up an entrepreneurship university, developing a Rapid Metro, and expanding city limits. Urban Development Minister BS Suresh said the project will follow a PPP model to avoid burdening state finances. The five focus areas are: Business Mysuru, Skilled Mysuru, Comfortable Living Mysuru, Tourism Mysuru, and Transport & Traffic Mysuru. Plans include a manufacturing hub, skill-based employment zones, and a wellness and rehabilitation centre. Mysuru, second only to Bengaluru in capital investment, is now being positioned as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
