Mysuru: In view of the imminent threat of new variant of Coronavirus, Omicron, the screening at the Karnataka-Kerala border has been heightened. Rigorous screening has been on at Bavali checkpost in HD Kote Taluk and other checkposts of the District.
Travellers coming from Kerala are being tested through the mobile application. Even if the report is negative, the report is further scanned to check all the details of the people. Action is being taken against those who try to enter the State with a fake negative report.
On earlier occasions, the people from Kerala would try to sneak into Karnataka with fake certificates but this time, the District Administration is not taking anything for granted.
