Srirangapatna: A Maruti Omni driver died on the spot when his vehicle rammed into a stationary truck near a Kirangur circle of the town.
Abhishek (23), son of Ramesh, a resident of Rampura village in the Taluk, has been identified as the deceased.
The incident occurred, when Ramesh was returning home from Maddur after finishing work.
Police faced a lot of problems extricating the body from the mangled remains of the van due to severity of the impact. Taking help from public, they finally managed to remove the body and sent it for post-mortem before handing it over to the kin.
Srirangapatna police have registered a case.
