Mysuru: “Prime Minister Narendra Modi who failed to fulfill his promises which he had made to the people of Mysuru in his rally during the previous general election does not have any moral rights to visit Mysuru again,” said Congress leader and former chairman of Mysore Paints and Varnish Limited, H A Venkatesh.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his campaign for the previous general election had assured the people of Mysuru that the city will be made like Paris, but in reality not a single meeting with stakeholders in regard to his assurance has been held,” added Venkatesh.

KPCC Spokesperson, K Lakshman who also spoke on the occasion said “BJP under the leadership of Narendra Modi and Amith Shah have neglected their senior leaders including LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Yashwanth Sinha and Shatrughan Sinha. After June 1 the same will be meted to senior BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa. Narendra Modi is also misusing his power by harassing Congress and JD(S) leaders through unnecessary IT raids. They don’t have any respects to Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, who for just three kilometres had to undergo 13 checks which does not happen to other Chief Ministers in the country”.

“If Modi government comes to power again the constitution will definitely be changed, and there will be no reservation for SC, ST and other minorities. Modi is also against South India and South Indian languages. Hence, the people of this country in general and Karnataka in particular should vote for Congress-Janata Dal (S) candidates, Lakshman added.”

Manjula Manasa, who is also KPCC Spokesperson and former chairperson of State Women’s Commission said “When UPA government was in power 33 percent reservation was proposed for women by Sonia Gandhi but the present NDA government is least bothered to implement it. Apart from this there is also an increase in atrocities on women which Modi government has failed to bring under control. As a Prime Minister, Modi has attended parliament for just 19 times and hardly had any press conference with the media. The BJP will not win more than 150 seats and the NDA will not cross 200. Congress-JD (S) coalition candidate in Mysuru will definitely win the election with a good margin”.
