Preparations for the grand 2025 Dussehra celebrations are in full swing. Authorities have initiated the process of selecting elephants that will take part in the iconic Jumbo Savari procession.

A team of forest officials recently visited the elephant camp to conduct detailed health examinations of the animals. As part of the assessment, samples from female elephants were collected and sent to laboratories to confirm pregnancy status.

Based on these medical reports, a preliminary list of selected elephants will be drafted and forwarded to the government for consideration.

Once the government grants approval, the Forest Minister and the department will issue an official order releasing the final list of participating elephants.

These measures mark the start of meticulous preparations for Mysuru’s most celebrated festival, which draws thousands of visitors every year to witness the majestic procession and cultural events.
