Mysuru: An injection administered for fever by a quack proved costly for a college student, who eventually succumbed in Hampapura’s Kalihundi village in H D Kote taluk limits.

Ankusha (21), a B Sc student and a resident of Kalihundi village had fallen ill due to fever and approached a quack named Raju for medication. Raju administered an injection and the injected area got infected within few days. The worried parents rushed their daughter to Apollo Hospital in Mysuru for further treatment but she failed to recover and eventually succumbed.

When the parents and relatives tried to enquire with the quack, he pacified them by offering little cash that moment. The very next morning he removed the sign board in front of his clinic and is absconding.

The Mysuru district surgeon has ordered the taluk level medical officer to conduct an inquiry into the incident and extract more details about the missing fake doctor for further action.
