Mysuru: After denial of party tickets for the forthcoming elections becoming certain, the K R Assembly constituency candidate S A Ramadas of Bharatiya Janata Party and deceased Janata Dal (S) leader Chikkamadu’s family members are planning to join JDS and Congress respectively.

BJP’s top brass has not given clearance to Ramadas which has forced the former state medical education minister to hold secret talks with JDS State Chief Kumaraswamy. Already two rounds of talks have been completed with S R Mahesh, incumbent K R Nagar constituency MLA and Kumaraswamy. The state JDS president is understood to have assured the disgruntled BJP leader, a party ticket from K R constituency in Mysuru city ahead of polls.

In addition, the Premkumari case has also cornered the BJP leader after the former reportedly claimed of secret wedding with Ramadas. She is also planning to contest against Ramadas to make the leader’s political future more complex. BJP is using this personal warfare as a tool to deny ticket to Ramadas, it is gathered.

After winning from the constituency thrice earlier, Ramadas lost to congress candidate M K Somashekar in the last assembly elections held in 2013.

Chiikamadu’s family tilts towards congress, ticket still uncertain

After JDS formally denied ticket to Anil, son of deceased MLA Chikkamadu to contest from H D Kote Assembly constituency, the entire family with its supporters is planning to join Congress ahead of the assembly polls this year. Recently, family members and supporters held a meeting and took a final decision to join Congress.

The family decision comes in the wake of assurance of a Congress party ticket by Member of Parliament from Chamarajanagar, Dhruvanarayan who is understood to have consulted the chief minister in the regard. However, KPCC President G Parmeshwara and State Congress Campaign Committee Chief D K Shivakumar are keen on fielding MLC V S Ugrappa from the same constituency.
