Mysuru: A total of Rs 2.05 cr has been spent on the world famous Dasara festival that recently concluded in Mysuru.
Speaking about the expenditure of the event, which was held in a simple manner due to Corona pandemic, District in-charge Minister ST Somashekar said that a total of Rs 2,05,83,167 was spent for the ten-day event and out of this maximum amount (Rs 44 lakhs) was spent on cultural event and to pay the artists.
A total of Rs 35 lakhs was spent on the Dasara elephants and Rs 41 lakhs was spent on the two stages set for hosting the event and Rs 40 lakhs was paid to the royal family as honorarium.
Apart from this, Rs 50 lakhs was spent on Srirangapatna Dasara and Rs 36 lakhs was spent on Chamarajanagar Dasara.
“No new expenditure was made during the Dasara celebrations. The state gfovernment had released Rs 10 cr while MUDA is supposed to release Rs 5 cr. We will discuss about utilising the remaining money with the CM” he said.
