Mysuru: Royal scion Yadveer uploaded images of private durbar for all to view on his Facebook page in which his wife Trishika is actively involved.
General public is not allowed to view the proceedings of the private durbar. Hence, there was a lot of curiosity among people to know the proceedings of the private durbar where the scion sits on the diamond studded throne.
It is believed that the throne belonged to Pandavas of Mahabharata which was later hid underground by a king named Kampa. Maharshi Vidyaranya traced it during meditation and handed it over to Harihara, the founder of Vijayanagara Empire in the year 1338. Later adorned at Anegundi, the throne was sent to the emissary’s residence in Srirangapatna when the Vijayanagar Empire collapsed. In the year 1609, Raja Wodeyar chased the then ruler Sringarajulau of Srirangapatna to Talakadu and acquired the throne. In the year 1610, when the capital was changed to Mysuru the throne entered the present palace premises, it is believed.
The throne comprises a main seat, steps leading to the main seat and a golden umbrella over the main seat. The balustrades of the steps leading to the seat are embellished with female figures. It was embellished with jewellery, gold and precious stones with an umbrella having several macrames all around.
The four sides of the throne are decorated with creepers. There are four lions to symbolize victory along with two horses and swans. Brahma in the south, Shiva in the North and Vishnu in the center are the trinities. On the umbrella, 96 Sanskrit shlokas have been carved.
By uploading all relevant images on Facebook, Scion Yaduveer has cleared the cloud and his likes on the social media website is likely to increase on account of his revelations.
