Mysuru: After marathon meeting with parents of the victim, K Suresh, Assistant Director, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports has suspended WR Harshitha who allegedly had beaten up her junior named Dimple on Saturday in the Sports Hostel.
K Suresh said, “During nearly six hour long meeting with both parents and witnesses on Monday, it came to light that Harshitha, final year B.Com student had slapped her junior Dimple on Saturday. I also spoke to other inmates of the hostel and they too have confirmed that Dimple was slapped. After going through all these evidences I took a decision to suspend the accused for five days immediately. The issue has also been brought to the notice of the higher ups.” Further investigations would be held to ascertain whether the accused was instigated by someone.
He also mentioned that there are nearly 148 students in the sports hostel including 40 juniors.
