Mysuru:
A major theft was reported in the 4th Phase of Vijayanagara, Mysuru, where valuables worth approximately ₹9 lakh were stolen from a residence. The incident occurred at the home of Lakshminarayan, an engineer employed at a private firm. His wife, Gauri, is an employee with the postal department.
According to sources, the couple had gone to visit Gauri’s mother. Upon their return, they were shocked to find that the main door lock had been tampered with. On inspecting the house, they discovered that 156 grams of gold ornaments and 2 kilograms of silver items were missing. The estimated total value of the stolen items stands at ₹9 lakh.
Lakshminarayan promptly reported the matter to the Vijayanagara Police Station. Law enforcement officials have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the theft. Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area and collecting statements to track down those responsible.
This burglary has raised concerns among local residents about security in the area. Authorities have advised the public to be cautious and ensure proper safety measures when leaving their homes unattended.
The case is under active investigation.
