Mysuru: Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE) will be converted into JSS Science and Technology University from this academic year.
Confirming this, Shakeeb ur Rahman, Principal of the college said that from the coming academic year that is from August, SJCE will be converted as JSS Science and Technology University. The 12 engineering UG courses and 16 PG courses including M Phil, MBA and MCA will come under this university”. Over more than 1200 students pursue various UG and PG courses including MBA, MBA and M Phil. As of now the students get the certificate from VTU once the university is established they will be getting certificates from JSS Science and Technology University.
SJCE, established in 1963 with three engineering branches, has got 12 different branches apart from various PG courses. Once it is converted to University, for the welfare of students, they have planned various programs including signing MOU with more foreign universities. After University of Mysore, Karnataka State Open University, JSS University and Music University, JSS Science and Technology University will be the fifth University in Mysuru.
