Mysuru: In a heart-rending incident, father and son died in quick succession in Belavadi area on the outskirts of the city.
Puttegowda, son of Byregowda, died of cancer. Unable to bear the demise of his son, father Byregowda died of cardiac arrest during the funeral procession of his son.
Villagers left the body of Puttegowda at the cremation site and rushed father to the hospital. Unfortunately, Puttegowda succumbed on the way.
Both were cremated together on the same pyre. Heart-rending scenes were witnessed at the cremation site, where relatives remained inconsolable.
