Mysuru: Department of Economics and Political Science of Vidyavardhaka First Grade College will be conducting a one-day state level conference on ‘India’s Path of Development in Era of Globalisation’ at its P M Chikkaboraiah Hall on January 19. As part of the conference, 50 papers will be presented by various experts.
S Marigowda, Principal of Vidyavardhaka First Grade College said, “In order to discuss the various aspects of globalisation, we are offering a platform for the academicians and practitioners to suggest measures to trigger overall economic development in our country. From this perspective, we are organising a state level conference on ‘India’s path of development in the Era of Globalization’. The objective of the conference is to analyse the impact of globalisation on Indian economy, to discuss the progress of economic development in India, to throw light on the effect of globalisation on international trade, to provide a platform for academicians, professionals, research scholars and students to discuss and deliberate the issues and challenges of globalisation.”
During the one day conference, a technical session on ‘Economic analysis of agrarian crisis and farm suicides in India’ and ‘Contemporary issues in India’s foreign policy’ will also be held. A panel discussion on topic ‘Globalisation and Sustainable Development in India’ will also be held. More than 300 participants are expected to take part in the daylong conference.
Hemantha Kumar, Vice Chancellor of University of Mysore will be the chief guest while Muzaffar H Assadi, Special Officer, Raichur University will deliver keynote address. The seminar will be inaugurated at 9.30 AM. R Siddaraju, HoD, Department of Economics and B T Raghu, HoD, Department of Political Science were also present.
