Subramanya nominated manager for Indian men’s throwball team

Mysuru: Throw Ball Federation of India has nominated N S Subramanya, Physical Education Director, The Institute of Education, Onkarmal Somani College of Education, Kuvempunagar as the manager of Indian throw-ball Team. This is for the third team he has been nominated for Indian throwball team.

Subramanya who was conferred with State Youth Award in 1995 by the state government for his contribution towards sports, culture and education and translating the throw-ball rules into Kannada from English for the welfare of throw-ball players of Karnataka will be representing the country in the Indo-Thailand Throwball Championship to be held at Bangkok (Thailand) from June 20 to 24.

It may be recalled that Subramanya was also nominated as manager for India’s Men’s Throw-ball team during Indo-Srilanka championship held at Colombo in 2014 and also Indian Junior Boys Throw-ball team during “Asian Junior Throwball Championship” held at Kualalumpur (Malaysia) in 2015 in which Indian team emerged as champion. Subramanya who is the president of Mysuru District Amateur Throwball Association Referee’s Board is also a member and convener of Throwball Referee Committee and Karnataka State Amateur Throwball Association respectively.

Subramanya said, “First of all I just want to thank the federation for giving me this opportunity. The team looks too good and we are hopeful of coming out with a good performance”. He has also conducted many district, state and even national level Throwball competitions in Mysuru and Nanjangud.
