Swaraj India Party to announce its first list on Apr 3

Mysuru: For the forthcoming assembly elections in Karnataka, the Swaraj India Party (SIP) will be announcing its first list of candidates in Bengaluru on April 3, said Shabbir Mustafa, Convenor of Swaraj India Party, Mysuru. Among 224 constituencies in state, SIP is expected to contest in 15 constituencies.

Addressing media persons at Press Club here on April 2, he said, “As part of assembly elections in state, Yogendra Yadav, President of Swaraj India Party will be touring the state from April 3 to 6. During his four-day visit to the state, the first list of nearly six candidates for Maddur, Pandavapura, Chitradurga, Challakere, Yadgir and Hanuru will be disclosed. In the first list, the candidature for Mysuru will not be announced.”

During his stay, he will also be chairing the executive meeting of the party and attend Swaraj Samvada at the Scouts and Guides Auditorium in Bengaluru. On April 4, he is also expected to campaign for Ravikrishna Reddy who will be contesting from Jayanagar Constituency in Bengaluru as an independent candidate. On the same day, he will inaugurate the party office at Maddur at 12 noon. Later, he will be attending a workshop of party workers at Pandavapura TAPCMS Auditorium and will stay at Seethapura village.

On April 5, he will attend an obituary programme of K S Puttannaiah. On the occasion, he will also be releasing a book “Raitha Chethana”, a biography on K S Puttanaiah penned by journalist Ravi Pandavapura.
