Talent hunt for KPL on July 29

Mysuru: Want to be a part of KPL team? Here is an opportunity. In line with its vision to nurture sporting talents in the hinterlands of Karnataka, NR Group, the owners of Mysuru Warriors, for the sixth edition of Karnataka Premier League (KPL 2017) announced their Talent Hunt at SDNR Stadium in Mysuru and Just Cricket Academy in Bengaluru on July 29.

The talent hunt is specially organised for talents from KSCA registered clubs in the entire Karnataka, as a lot of potential lies in the state when it comes to cricket. The screening aims to foster fresh cricketing talents and subsequently coach and nurture them. This initiative of Mysuru Warriors is an opportunity for players to enter the professional cricketing arena. The selected players will get a chance to represent Mysuru Warriors and play at the upcoming KPL 2017 powered by Cycle Pure Agarbathies.

Speaking about the Talent Hunt, Arjun Ranga, Owner, Mysuru Warriors said, “NR Group has always believed in nurturing talent, be it cricket or any other sports. We are proud to host the Talent Hunt and it is a pleasure to give players a chance to represent Mysuru Warriors. Through this Talent Hunt, we intend to spot good cricketers and provide them a platform to grow and prove themselves.”

Last year for the talent hunt, 280 players including those from Mangaluru, Dharwad, Bijapur, Bengaluru and Mysuru took part in the selection trials and three got selected. Mysuru Warriors Captain Manish Pandey has carved a niche for himself in the international cricket arena. J Suchith and Goutham K among the key players of Mysuru Warriors team were instrumental in the victory against Mumbai Indian team.

The players are advised to carry with them their KSCA statistics of last two years and their kits. The ball will be provided.

Rockstars led by Sudeep will not be part of KPL 2017

Rockstars led by cine actor Sudeep will not be a part of sixth edition KPL 2017 which will begin from September 1. The matches are expected to be played at three venues, Bengaluru, Hubballi and Mysuru. More than 10 matches are expected to be played at Mysuru SDNRW ground. Bellary Tuskers is the defending champion which defeated Hubli Tigers by 35 runs in the final.
