Mysuru: Three cases of cholera have been confirmed in Tagadur village in Varuna constituency which is the constituency of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The detection comes after proactive testing by the health department following reports of villagers experiencing vomiting and diarrhea .
Over the past week, health officials have tested 114 individuals in Tagadur. Alarmingly, three tests returned positive for cholera, prompting a swift response from senior health authorities. District Health Officer Sivakumaraswamy visited the village for inspection and initiated containment measures.
Preliminary investigations point towards contaminated borewell water as the possible source of the outbreak. Consequently, authorities have shut down four borewells in the village and sent water samples for testing. Additionally, a team of six doctors and an ambulance have been deployed at the village community hospital to address any emergency situations.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and urging residents to be vigilant and adhere to preventive measures to curb further transmission of cholera in the region.
