Bengaluru: B Zameer Ahmed Khan, minister for food and civil supplies informed that there is no question of cancelling the celebration of Tipu Jayanti.
In a strongly worded reaction to the demand made by Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha, at the inaugural ceremony of the Mysuru Dasara atop the Chamundi hills, Khan stated that Tipu was a secular king and the celebration will continue under the JDS-Congress alliance too.
“Simha is using the government stage to provocate a section of the society. He is hurting the sentiments of the Muslims by raking up controversies,” he alleged.
