Mysuru: A wave of patriotism swept across Mysuru on Friday as hundreds came together for the Tiranga Yatra — a symbolic march honouring the Indian armed forces and celebrating the success of Operation Sindoor. The event was marked by unity across age, faith, and political affiliations.
The yatra commenced with a tribute to Field Marshal K M Cariappa at Metropole Junction and proceeded through key city streets such as Shivarampet, Chikka Gadiyara, and Devaraj Urs Road before circling back. Participants included students, veterans, religious leaders, and common citizens, reflecting a powerful message of national solidarity.
Mysuru MP Yaduveer Wadiyar led the initiative, stating, “This rally had no political colours — only national spirit. Operation Sindoor is proof that India, while peaceful, will never hesitate to defend its sovereignty under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
Spiritual leaders like Suttur Seer Shivarathri Deshikendra Swami, Ganapathi Sachidananda Swami, and Maulana Riyaz Khader Baba joined hands with Christian and Hindu representatives, offering blessings and urging citizens to hold soldiers in daily prayers.
Ex-Air Force veteran Balasubramanya, 79, who served in the 1965 and 1971 wars, praised India’s firm stance, saying, “Peace is in our blood, but our courage is in action.”
Prominent political figures including TS Srivatsa, CN Manjegowda, and Pratap Simmha walked shoulder-to-shoulder with citizens and BJP members, all waving the Tricolour with pride.
