Traffic Disrupted On Maani Mysore Highway Due To Fallen Tree

Sullia, June 26, 2024: Early morning traffic on the Maani-Mysore Highway came to a halt when a massive tree fell on the road at Elpakaje in Aranthodu village during the wee hours of Wednesday. The tree, which toppled around 3 am, obstructed the flow of vehicles, creating a significant traffic disruption.

Upon discovering the fallen tree, local residents promptly alerted the authorities. Responding swiftly to the situation, officials arranged for a crane to be brought in to remove the tree branches and clear the road. The process of clearing the debris was underway, but the situation was further complicated when the tyres of a speeding lorry got stuck in the slush created by the fallen tree.

The lorry, unable to move, added to the traffic woes. However, the local community showed commendable solidarity by coming together to assist the lorry driver in navigating the difficult terrain. Their collective efforts helped to mitigate the impact of the traffic disruption until the authorities could fully clear the road.

Such incidents highlight the importance of community cooperation and prompt action in addressing unexpected challenges. The swift response by the locals and the coordinated efforts with the authorities ensured that the highway was cleared as quickly as possible, minimizing inconvenience to travelers. The incident serves as a reminder of the unpredictability of natural occurrences and the importance of readiness to handle emergencies effectively.
