The unfortunate event took place on Monday evening when the children had reportedly gone near the canal to play. What began as a casual outing turned tragic within moments.
Initial investigations suggest that one of the children may have accidentally slipped into the canal. The other two, in a desperate attempt to save him, also jumped in and were swept away by the current. Sadly, all three drowned.
Family members revealed that the girl among the victims had just appeared for her SSLC examinations this year and was awaiting her results. The names and exact ages of the children have not been released yet.
Local authorities rushed to the spot following reports of the incident, and recovery efforts were initiated immediately. The bodies were later retrieved and sent for post-mortem.
