Mysuru: A serene Sunday evening turned into a harrowing tragedy as two young boys lost their lives in a devastating accident at Sahukarahundi lake in Mysore taluk. The victims, identified as Varun (16) from Hootagalli Housing Board and Jaswant (14) from Basavanpur, had ventured to the lake for a swim, unaware of the peril that awaited them.
The fateful evening took a tragic turn as the boys, unable to gauge the depth of the lake, found themselves in distress as they struggled to stay afloat. With no awareness of swimming, the situation quickly turned dire, compounded by the absence of any bystanders around the lake to offer assistance. Tragically, their cries for help went unanswered, and the heartbreaking incident unfolded without intervention.
The Ilawala station police swiftly responded to the scene, conducting a thorough inspection and subsequently registering a case in connection with the incident.
