Shivamogga: The Tyavarekoppa Lion and Tiger Reserve in the district has got a male hippopotamus named Diva from the Mysuru Zoo.
As the hippopotamus has got used to the habitat here the public have been allowed to view the new guest, which has been the prime attraction of the reserve. The reserve has also requested for a female hippopotamus from the authorities of Mysuru Zoo. It is understood that the Mysuru Zoo has given nod for the same.
It is a move to conserve the animal that has been facing habitat loss all over the world.
