Mysuru: Trujet, the company which bagged a year’s contract under Udan Scheme to operate flights from the cultural city deferred its scheduled launch to September 20 from 15 due to nonavailability of central minister for the inauguration.
The tickets booked online by air passengers for the period between September 15- 20 too stand cancelled due to the change in the launch programme.
The minister of state for civil aviation accompanied by local member of parliament were scheduled to inaugurate the Trujet flight services under the central government’s Udan scheme from Mysuru to Chennai.
The decision was taken at a meeting in Mandakalli airport between airport consultative committee members and Trujet officials.
Trujet, which bagged a year’s contract is likely to extend its service by one year, said company sources. The services which are likely to begin after a 2-year break will have a 78-seat aircraft flying from Mysore to Chennai and later to Hyderabad in the evenings to promote tourism by facilitating large number of passengers visiting the city during Dasara period.
