Mysuru: The acting vice chancellor’s free roam in women’s hostel has whipped a storm, embroiling him in a fresh controversy. CCTV footages show his movements in the corridors of the women’s hostel raising many doubts on his intentions.

The acting VC, Dayanand Mane with a case history of sexual abuse managed to occupy the coveted post based on seniority. In an earlier incident, parents and guardians of a research scholar had taken Dayanand Mane to task when he crossed he limits in dealing with her. The incident had received wide media attention last year.

Hostel girls have complained to the Minister for Higher education Basavaraja Rayareddy demanding action. It is gathered that he visited the hostel 4 times during last one month alone. Fans were removed from the hostel rooms to prevent suicide cases which houses 402 inmates.

Acting VC has again managed to get fans fitted in 12 rooms to keep many eye brows raised! Meanwhile, Registrar Rajanna has accused the VC of mounting pressure on him to transfer hostel warden Rekha Jadhav, who complained of his frequent visits. When the registar remained silent, VC Dyanand Mane is understood to have verbally abused him.

VC justified his visits, which according to him were in response to few complaints received by him. VC went on to add that attempts are being made by few of his detractors to drag him into a controversy, mainly to defame him. VC mentioned of large scale corruption and accused the role of registrar in his 7 letters sent to government earlier. He has assured to explain his stand vide a press conference on April 19.

Considering his past, cry for his early ouster is growing within the UoM Campus. Unfortunately these incidents have tarnished the image of State’s century old University of International repute.

Right now the focus has shifted to a fully packed press conference tomorrow!
