Mysuru : A Vietnamese 10-member youth delegation arrived in Mysuru to know more about the art, culture and women’s empowerment on April 2.
In a programme, jointly organised by the Nehru Youth Centre and Sneha Spandana Women’s Board, the delegation received a warm welcome at the youth hostel premises. The delegation is visiting the state under an agreement between Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, with their counterparts in Vietnam.
Speaking on the occasion, Mysuru DC D Randeep felt that the youth exchange programmes help in improving the ties between the two nations and insisted on multiple interactions to better international understanding. In India, Home is the first school and Mother is best teacher from Vedic times, DC Randeep said.
Youth delegation has 10 members with equal representation for both sexes. The delegation visited silk factory and Chamundi Hills and later assembled to witness the fabulous lighting at the the world famous Amba Vilas Palace. They will be visiting Infosys on April 3, said District Youth coordination Officer M N Nataraj.
Senior officials from Youth and Sports Ministry, Mysore University and others were present.
