Mysuru: The election battle lines are clearly drawn for the high voltage by-polls in Nanajangud and Gundlupete constituencies, where the BJP candidate Srinivas Prasad said voters will give a befitting reply to Chief Minister Siddarmaiah’s hauteur.
Endorsing party chief Yeddyurappa’s statement that the by-elections will be the trend setters for the State Assembly elections due next year, Prasad said adding the electorate will cast their votes judiciously to ensure his victory.
This former revenue minister urged the election commission to take all the measures for free and fair polls. Prasad said he would seek forgiveness from voters for forcing a by-election on Nanjangud constituency.
Campaigning in neighbouring Gundlupet is on the agenda in addition to extensive campaigning in his own constituency, Prasad said en route to Gundlupet.
It may be recalled that the state chief minister had ruled out the possibility of by-polls being trend setters and cautioned BJP chief Yeddyurappa to accept the reality that prudent voters were not in his pocket.
