Watch inaugural IPL match live on giant screens at Fan Parks

Mysuru: The inauguration of tenth Indian Premier League (IPL) and the subsequent match between Royal Challengers V/s Sunrisers Hyderabad can be watched live on giant LED screen at Vivo IPL Fan Park set up at Manasagangotri Ground. Among 36 cities selected for this IPL Fan Park event, Mysuru is one. Fan Park opens at 5 pm and remain so till the match ends. The entry is free for the public and a lot of games, quiz, prizes prior to the game and during the match have also been arranged.

Speaking to media persons, Sudhakar Rai, Chairman, Mysuru zone, Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) said, “For the second consecutive year, after overwhelming response from cricket enthusiasts last year, where more than 12,000 people witnessed live match on the giant screen, BCCI selected Mysuru city among four cities for the first VIVO IPL Fan Park for the 2017 season which will be held on April 5, the other three cities are Guwahati, Mathura and Aurangabad.”

Rohith and Murthy representing Vivo said that IPL Fan Park is for the cricket fans who cannot watch IPL matches live at stadium across various venues. The Fan Park is a BCCI property which was created to boost the game’s popularity across all cities in India and reach out to almost all the fans situated in different parts of the country. This year BCCI has selected 36 cities across India which includes 14 new cities-Bhubaneswar, Bareilly, Kochi, Ludhiana, Tumkur and Nagercoil that will host the Fan Park for the first time, as well as cities like Shimla and Shillong, where the passion for cricket has only recently exploded into a frenzy and has continued to grow with each passing season of the league. In Karnataka, apart from Mysuru, it will also be held at Hubli at Karnataka Gymkhana Association on April 22 and 23 and also in Tumkur on April 29 and 30 at Circus ground.

The duo also mentioned that each venue will broadcast all the action of the IPL live on giant TV screens, creating a stadium-like feel for fans practically in their backyards. Entry will be free and furthermore, there will be music and multiple stalls for merchandise, food, beverages and other activities by IPL’s official sponsors, which will add to the electrifying atmosphere. There will also be special areas earmarked for women, children and elderly people.
