Mysuru: A 26-year-old engineering graduate woman having an 11-month-old child hanged herself at her residence in Byraveshwaranagar after repeated harassment by her suspicious husband on October 29.
Kavya (26), originally a resident of Mellahalli in Periyapatna Taluk is the deceased.
In her death note, she has sought apology from her parents for her action and requested them to take care of her 11-month-old child. She has accused her husband of repeatedly suspecting her character whenever she spoke over phone or used facebook.
Parents of Kavya who arrived at her residence after hearing her death news too accused their son-in-law of harassing her. They gave several instances to substantiate their claims against their son-in-law Maruti Prasad (35), originally a resident of K R Nagar, presently employed as Manager in Cauvery Ford, Mysuru.
It is gathered, accused Maruti Prasad used to grow suspicious whenever Kavya tried to contact people known to her including relatives on facebook or phone.
Kavya’s parents recalled her last call on the eve of Diwali on October 28 and expressed their sorrow over their failure to contact her repeatedly this morning.
Metagalli police arrested accused Maruti Prasad and further investigation is in progress.
